PostSubject: For Cheetah Lovers   Mon Mar 31, 2008 10:29 pm

I personally love Cheetahs, they're my favorite 'big cat' of Africa. I found a way to easily draw them as well

For basic Cheetah head (older tutorial but still helps):

For basic anatomy help with lines and circles:

Other:

  • Cheetahs have short fur, save for when they're young

  • Cheetahs have long flexible, skinny bodies for better maneuverability

  • Cheetahs have large chests to house their lungs so they don't run out of breath too fast while chasing at such high speeds. and to help cool them down

  • A Cheetahs' tear lines curve from inside of the eye (at tear duct) to end at the mouth

  • A Cheetah's claws are nonretractable for better grip on the earth when chasing prey

  • Cheetahs have long muscular tails that change from spots to stripes as a sort of rudder to help balance and guide them when running/turning
